AI applied to E-learning

-Previously we launched a post about the main trends that will mark the e-learning during 2023, we talked briefly about each of them. Today, we would like to focus on the one that has aroused the most interest in our social networks and that will bring a lot of news in the near future, Artificial Intelligence.

-But let's start at the beginning: What is Artificial Intelligence? "AI is the ability of a machine to mimic human capabilities such as reasoning, learning and creativity." In the last few years we have been able to see the first AI technologies; during 2023 we may see them develop further, from Samoo we are committed to introduce you to the latest tools on the market developed with AI that can be implemented in online training.

-AI has many applications in different contexts, education is one of the areas that will have more presence in the coming years, it will gradually become more integrated into our lives, coming to solve some of the challenges posed by education. In this post we will focus on AI applied to e-learning.

What does AI bring to education?

Personalized learning itineraries

-Thanks to AI, it is possible to track a student's performance in real time, know where they are in their pending tasks and trace their learning path. Each student follows a roadmap according to his knowledge and speed of learning. Dynamism and flexibility are obtained within the process, increasing the student's motivation to learn and making the teacher's task more effective.

Advanced Analytics

-With the help of an advanced Artificial Intelligence system, a huge amount of data can be analyzed. Within our portfolio at Samoo, we have Intelliboarda tool that has these characteristics and allows us to quickly detect which students are at risk and propose improvement actions.

Videos with AI

-The use of video in education is growing at an incredible rate. Teachers around the world are using it to enhance students' learning experiences. The video platform Vidextvideo platform, also integrated in our portfolio, allows us to generate audiovisual content with AI, selecting an avatar that will move and adhere to a previously written script in the language of our choice, reducing costs and work time.

ChatGPT: Virtual tutors

-The advent of ChatGPT allows students to have virtual teachers. In this way the student gets an immersive experience and can resort to it whenever needed. The chatbots also help the student in the evaluation process, detecting the areas where the student has had a higher rate of incorrect answers or leveling up the questions as the student becomes more successful. The user can ask any question and get high quality answers in a few seconds from the chatbot.

-However, the arrival of ChatGPT raises some doubts about the future and whether it really fulfills the ability to detect plagiarism among students, some of the most important universities in the world have blocked the use of the chatbot because of concerns about plagiarism, the New York Department of Education stated the following: "while the tool can provide quick and easy answers to questions, it does not foster critical thinking and problem solving skills, which are essential for academic and life success" Time will tell if these potential flaws are corrected and we are looking at a great future tool for education.
