CONTENT CURATION, WHAT IS IT AND WHAT ARE ITS BENEFITS?
What are the benefits of content curation? What is it? Our current reality is that of a fully digitalized society where everything is just a click away. A brief search in our reference browser will be enough to find any type of information we need.
Infoxication.
The ease and immediacy with which we have access to information allows us to immerse ourselves in an ocean with thousands of options (pages, documents, files, videos, and a long etc.). However, what apparently seems to be a great advantage, can turn into a nightmare when this information comes from different sources, since much of it can be corrupted and manipulated, or simply be useless for our purpose.
From this overwhelming excess of information comes the term infoxication, a word used to define the overload of information that prevents us from correctly classifying and consolidating the results obtained and makes it difficult for us to make decisions. In an attempt to solve this problem, content curation was born.
But what is content curation?
Content curation consists of knowing how to select content that is useful for our purpose, knowing how to distinguish between all the information that can reach us from different channels (websites, social networks, blogs, videos), filtering and compiling only that which is really of interest to us, so that we can then disseminate it to our audience.
With the curation technique, we do not seek to create new content, but to perfect the content we already have, giving it an improved and personalized approach. The person in charge of this task is called a content curator.
What are the benefits of content curation?
